What is an EPC?
An EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) is a rating scheme to summarise the energy efficiency of buildings and is valid for 10 years. The building is given a rating of between A (Very Efficient) - G (Inefficient). The EPC will include tips on the most cost effective way to improve your homes energy. An energy assessment is carried out by a qualified and Accredited energy assessor who examines key items such as caviy wall, floor & loft insulation, domestic boiler, hot water tank, radiators, heating controls, windows for double glazing etc. The assessor will then input the observations into a software program which will calculate the energy effiecency.
